Newly adopted Conservative candidate for Banff & Buchan, Alex Johnstone, has thanked to all those who have expressed support for his bid to make us a beacon for the Union in the North.
Speaking afterwards the selection meeting in Mintlaw he said:
“Banff & Buchan was once the plaything of Alex Salmond, but the loyalty shown to him by the voters of this constituency has not been returned as the former First Minster moved off to pastures new.
“The people of Banff & Buchan have now also firmly rejected the prospect of Scottish independence. It is time we came in from the cold and became part of the mainstream one again.
“It’s time to put Banff & Buchan back on the map, and back at the heart of a Unionist government at Westminster.”
